How it works

How to use CSV to Chart

  1. Drop a CSV or TSV file, paste CSV text, or try the sample sales data.

  2. Pick the chart type — bar, line, area, pie/donut or scatter — then the category column and one or more value columns.

  3. Choose how repeated categories are combined (sum, average, count, min or max), the sort order and an optional Top N with “Other”.

  4. Add a title and axis labels, pick a number format, then download the chart as a PNG or SVG or copy it as an image.

Why use it

Why use our CSV to Chart tool

Five chart types

Vertical or horizontal bars (grouped or stacked), line, area, pie or donut, and scatter plots from the same file.

Automatic aggregation

Rows with the same category are summed, averaged, counted or reduced to their minimum or maximum, so raw exports chart without a pivot table.

Top N and “Other”

Keep the biggest categories and fold the long tail into one “Other” bar or slice, with sorting by value or label.

Accessible and theme-aware

A colour-blind-checked palette tuned for light and dark mode, hover tooltips, arrow-key navigation through every value and a data table fallback.

Crisp exports

Download a 2× PNG (1920 × 1080) or a scalable SVG for slides and documents, or copy the chart straight to the clipboard.

Big files, still private

Parsing and aggregation run in a background worker on your device; large scatter plots are sampled to 5,000 points so the page stays fast.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a chart from a CSV file?

Drop the CSV here, choose the chart type, pick the column for the categories (X axis) and tick the numeric columns to plot. The chart updates instantly and can be downloaded as PNG or SVG.

What happens when a category appears in many rows?

Rows are grouped by the category and combined with the method you choose: sum (default), average, count, minimum or maximum. With no value column selected, the chart counts rows per category.

Can I chart several columns at once?

Yes. Tick up to eight value columns to get grouped or stacked bars, several lines or stacked areas, each with its own colour and a legend. Pie charts use the first selected column.

Which numbers are understood?

Plain numbers plus common spreadsheet formats such as 1,234.50, $1,200, 45% and (300) for negatives. Cells that aren’t numbers are skipped and counted in a note under the chart.

What size is the exported image?

PNG downloads are 1920 × 1080 pixels (a 960 × 540 chart at 2× for sharp text). SVG downloads are vector graphics that stay crisp at any size.

Is my CSV uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read and charted entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, so it is safe for private or confidential data.
