How it works

How to use WiFi QR Code Generator

  1. Enter your network name (SSID) exactly as it appears in your Wi-Fi list.

  2. Choose the security type — WPA for almost every modern router — and type the password.

  3. Tick “Hidden network” if your router doesn't broadcast its name.

  4. Download the QR code as PNG or SVG, or print a ready-made card for your fridge, desk or reception.

Why use it

Why use our WiFi QR Code Generator tool

Correct escaping

Names and passwords containing semicolons, commas, colons, quotes or backslashes are escaped exactly as the Wi-Fi QR format requires, so tricky passwords still work.

Printable Wi-Fi card

Print a clean card with the network name, security type and (optionally) the password written out for people without a camera.

All network types

WPA, WPA2 and WPA3 personal, legacy WEP, open networks and hidden SSIDs.

Input checks

Warns about passwords that are too short for WPA, WEP keys of the wrong length and names over the 32-byte limit.

Password never leaves your device

Everything is generated locally in your browser — your Wi-Fi password is never sent to a server.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do iPhones and Android phones support Wi-Fi QR codes?

Yes. iPhones running iOS 11 or later and Android 10 or later can join a network straight from the built-in camera app — point the camera at the code and tap the notification.

What if my network uses WPA3?

Choose WPA/WPA2/WPA3. Wi-Fi QR codes use the same “WPA” type for all of them, and the phone negotiates the strongest security your router supports when it connects.

Is it safe to put my Wi-Fi password in a QR code?

The code contains the password in plain text, so anyone who scans it can join — treat it like writing the password down. For visitors, consider a separate guest network and print the card only for places you control.

Will the QR code still work if I change my Wi-Fi password?

No. The password is stored in the code itself, so you need to generate and print a new code whenever you change the password or network name.

My password has special characters — will it work?

Yes. Semicolons, commas, colons, quotes and backslashes are escaped automatically according to the Wi-Fi QR specification, which is where many other generators go wrong.
