FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What happens when someone scans a vCard QR code?

Their phone recognises the contact card and offers to add it to their address book with your name, numbers, email and other details already filled in — no typing needed.

How much information can I include?

Quite a lot, but every extra field makes the pattern denser and harder to scan when printed small. For a business card, name, one or two phone numbers, email and website is the sweet spot.

What's the difference between the QR code and the .vcf file?

They contain the same contact. The QR code is for print and screens so people can scan it; the .vcf file is for sending by email or importing into contact apps and CRMs.

Can I update the details later?

The details are stored inside the code, so a printed code can't change. If your number or job changes, generate a new code — it only takes a few seconds.

Why vCard 3.0 instead of 4.0?

vCard 3.0 has the widest compatibility with phone camera apps and older contact software, so it is the safest choice for a code you print.
