What is a wa.me link?

It's WhatsApp's official click-to-chat address. Opening https://wa.me/ followed by a full international number starts a chat with that number without saving it as a contact first — on phones it opens the app, on computers WhatsApp Web or Desktop.

How should I write the phone number?

In international format without +, spaces or the national 0 — for example a Pakistani mobile 0300 1234567 becomes 923001234567. This tool does that conversion for you: pick the country and type the number the way you normally would.

Can I add a message that is already typed in?

Yes. Anything in the message box is added as ?text=… and appears in the chat box when the link opens. The sender can still edit it before pressing send, and nothing is sent automatically.

Does it work with WhatsApp Business?

Yes. wa.me links and QR codes work the same way for WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business numbers. They are a great fit for shop windows, product packaging, receipts and ads.

Will my WhatsApp QR code expire?

No. The link is stored directly in the QR code, with no redirect service in between, so it works for as long as the number is on WhatsApp. If your number changes, generate a new code.

Can I create a link without a phone number?

Yes. Leave the number empty and type a message: the link then opens WhatsApp and lets the person choose which contact or group to share your message with.
