How it works

How to use Certificate Generator

  1. Pick one of the built-in designs and an accent color, or upload your own background as a PDF or image.

  2. Enter one recipient, or upload a CSV exported from Excel or Google Sheets with columns like name, course and date.

  3. Drag the text fields into place and set the font, size, color and alignment. Use {{column}} to insert any CSV column.

  4. Check the preview for any row, then create one combined PDF, a ZIP with a separate PDF per person, or both.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I make certificates from an Excel or Google Sheets list?

Export the sheet as CSV (File → Download → CSV, or Save As → CSV in Excel), make sure the first row has column names like name and course, then upload it. Each row becomes one certificate.

Can I add my own columns, like a grade or certificate number?

Yes. Add a field and pick the column, or type text such as “Grade: {{grade}}” — any {{column}} placeholder is replaced with that row’s value.

How many certificates can I create at once?

Up to 5,000 rows per CSV. A few hundred take seconds on a laptop; very large batches depend on your device’s memory, and you can cancel at any time.

Why does a name show a question mark?

The built-in PDF fonts cover English and Western European letters (including é, ü, ñ). Characters from other alphabets can’t be drawn, so the tool lists the affected rows before you download and shows them as “?”.

Can I use my own certificate design?

Yes. Choose Your own and upload a PDF (the first page is used) or a PNG, JPG or WebP image. The certificate takes the size and shape of your background.

Is my attendee list uploaded?

No. The CSV is read and the PDFs are created entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server or stored.
