How it works

How to use Fill PDF Form

  1. Drop a fillable PDF form into the box — every field is listed and highlighted on the page preview.

  2. Type your answers, tick checkboxes, choose radio buttons and list options. Click a box on the page to jump to its field.

  3. Choose Keep editable to allow changes later, or Flatten to lock the answers into the page.

  4. Click Fill PDF and download the completed form. Save your answers as JSON to fill the same form faster next time.

Why use it

Why use our Fill PDF Form tool

Every common field type

Text and multi-line boxes, checkboxes, radio groups, dropdowns, option lists and date fields with a date picker in the right format.

See where each answer goes

Fields are highlighted on a live page preview that updates as you type. Click any box to jump straight to its input.

Flatten or keep editable

Lock answers into the page so they look the same in every viewer and can’t be changed, or keep the form fillable for later.

Fill the same form again in seconds

Save your answers to a small JSON file and load them next time — handy for monthly reports, timesheets or repeat applications.

Works where readers struggle

Field appearances are regenerated, so your answers show up in browsers, phone viewers and printers, not just in Acrobat.

Your answers stay private

The form is filled on your device. Personal details like your address or tax number are never uploaded anywhere.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if my PDF is fillable?

Drop it in. If the PDF has interactive form fields, they’re listed and highlighted right away. If it has none (for example a scanned form), the tool tells you and points you to Add Text to PDF, where you can type anywhere on the page.

What does “flatten” mean?

Flattening turns the form fields into ordinary page content. The answers look exactly the same everywhere and can’t be edited anymore — the best choice when you submit or print a finished form.

Why can’t I fill some government or tax forms?

Some forms are built with Adobe’s XFA technology, which only Adobe Acrobat and Reader support. The tool detects these and explains your options instead of producing a broken file.

Which characters can I type?

Letters, numbers and punctuation used in English and Western European languages, including accents like é, ü and ñ. Other scripts such as Chinese, Arabic or Cyrillic aren’t supported by the built-in PDF fonts, and the tool warns you before saving.

Are my form answers uploaded or saved?

No. Everything happens in your browser tab. Nothing is sent to a server, and your answers are gone when you close the page — unless you save them to a JSON file yourself.
