FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is GitHub-flavored Markdown?

GFM is GitHub's extension of standard Markdown. It adds tables, task list checkboxes, strikethrough with ~~text~~, fenced code blocks and automatic links.

How do I convert Markdown to HTML?

Write or paste your Markdown, then click Copy HTML for the HTML fragment, or download .html to get a complete page with basic styling.

Is raw HTML allowed in my Markdown?

Yes, safe HTML such as <details> or <kbd> renders. Scripts, event handlers and other dangerous markup are stripped by DOMPurify.

Is my document saved or uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is sent to a server. Download your .md file to keep a copy.

Can I use it to write a GitHub README?

Yes. The preview follows GitHub-flavored Markdown closely, so tables, task lists and code blocks look the way they will on GitHub.
