How it works

How to use SVG Optimizer

  1. Paste SVG markup, or drop one or more .svg files onto the page.

  2. Adjust precision and options such as keeping the viewBox, removing metadata or prettifying the code.

  3. Compare the original and optimized previews side by side and check the bytes saved.

  4. Download each SVG, all of them as a ZIP, or a PNG at 1×–4× scale.

Why use it

Why use our SVG Optimizer tool

Powered by SVGO

Uses the same optimiser as most design tools and build pipelines, with multipass mode for the smallest output.

Bulk optimisation

Drop dozens of icons at once, see the saving for each file and in total, and download everything as one ZIP.

Safe side-by-side preview

Original and optimized images render as images, so scripts embedded in an SVG never run.

Fine-grained control

Set decimal precision, keep or remove the viewBox, title, width and height, comments and editor metadata.

SVG to PNG

Export a crisp PNG at 1×, 2×, 3× or 4× scale with a transparent or white background.

Private and offline

Files are processed in your browser and never uploaded — ideal for unreleased logos and client artwork.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much smaller will my SVG get?

SVGs exported from Illustrator, Figma, Inkscape or Sketch often shrink by 30–80%, because they contain editor metadata, comments, hidden elements and over-precise numbers. Hand-written or already-optimized SVGs shrink less.

Will optimizing change how my SVG looks?

With the default precision of 3 decimals it looks identical. Very low precision (0–1) can visibly distort small or detailed shapes — compare the previews and raise the precision if you see a difference.

Why should I keep the viewBox?

The viewBox lets an SVG scale to any size with CSS. Removing it saves a few bytes but can make the image stop resizing or appear cropped, so it is kept by default.

What does remove width & height do?

It drops the fixed size from the root element so the SVG fills its container and is sized purely by CSS. The viewBox is kept so the proportions stay correct.

How do I convert SVG to PNG?

Choose a scale (1× to 4×) and a background, then press PNG next to a file. The SVG is drawn onto a canvas in your browser at that size and saved as a PNG.

Are my SVG files uploaded?

No. Optimisation, previews and PNG conversion all happen locally in your browser. Nothing leaves your device.
