Why use it

Why use our Convert Image tool

All the common formats

Convert to JPG, PNG or WebP everywhere, and to AVIF in browsers that can encode it — detected automatically.

Transparency handled

PNG and WebP keep transparent backgrounds; for JPG you choose the colour that fills them instead of ugly black.

Reads iPhone HEIC photos

HEIC/HEIF files are decoded right in the browser, so you can convert iPhone photos to any format.

Batch conversion

Convert a whole set of images at once and grab them in one zip file.

Private by design

Every conversion happens on your device. No uploads, no accounts, no watermarks.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which format should I choose?

JPG for photos that must open everywhere, PNG for screenshots, logos and anything needing pixel-perfect edges or transparency, WebP for the smallest web-ready files with transparency, AVIF for even smaller files on modern sites.

Why is AVIF not offered in my browser?

Most browsers can display AVIF but not all can create it. We test your browser's encoder and only show AVIF when it actually works. You can still use AVIF files as input.

What happens to transparent areas when converting PNG to JPG?

JPG has no transparency, so transparent pixels are filled with the background colour you choose — white by default.

Can I convert an animated GIF?

The first frame is converted to a still image. Animation isn't preserved when converting to JPG, PNG or WebP here.

Is converting to WebP or AVIF safe for my website?

Yes — WebP is supported by every modern browser, and AVIF by all current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari.
