Why use it

Why use our Passport Photo Under 50KB tool

Sharpest file under 50 KB

JPG quality is searched automatically so the photo uses the full 50 KB budget instead of being over-compressed.

Pixels kept where possible

The 300 DPI size is kept and only reduced if quality alone can't reach the limit — the final pixel size is shown.

Plain backgrounds compress better

Swapping a busy wall for white or light grey also makes the file smaller.

Other limits too

Switch to ≤ 100 KB, ≤ 200 KB or a custom KB value for other portals.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Why do online forms want photos under 50 KB?

Exam and recruitment portals process huge numbers of uploads, so many cap photos at a small size such as 20–50 KB. Your form's instructions give the exact numbers.

Will a 50 KB passport photo look blurry?

Not at passport sizes. A 413 × 531 px JPG usually fits under 50 KB at good quality, especially with a plain background.

My form also needs a minimum size — what should I do?

If the saved photo is below the minimum, choose a larger KB option or a bigger photo size. Check your form for the allowed range.

Do I need the pixel size too?

Some forms list pixels (for example 200 × 230) instead of mm. Use Custom size or crop and resize the photo afterwards with the image resizer.
