How it works

How to use Flip Image

  1. Drop the images you want to flip — they are mirrored left to right straight away.

  2. Toggle Flip horizontal or Flip vertical, and rotate left or right in 90° steps if needed.

  3. Compare the original and the result side by side.

  4. Download one image, or all of them as a .zip.

Why use it

Why use our Flip Image tool

Mirror in one click

Horizontal flip is on as soon as you drop a photo — perfect for un-mirroring selfies and webcam shots with backwards text.

Flip and rotate together

Combine horizontal and vertical flips with 90° rotations to fix any scan or photo orientation.

Batch processing

Flip a whole folder with the same settings and grab everything in one zip.

Keeps size and format

Width and height stay exactly the same (swapped for quarter turns), and each file keeps its format. PNG stays lossless.

Private by design

Flipping happens on your device. Your images are never uploaded.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between flipping horizontally and vertically?

A horizontal flip mirrors the image left to right, like a reflection in a mirror. A vertical flip turns it upside down, like a reflection in water.

Why is the text in my selfie backwards?

Front cameras show a mirrored preview and some phones save it that way. Flip the photo horizontally to make text and logos read correctly again.

Is flipping the same as rotating 180°?

No. Rotating 180° turns the picture upside down without mirroring it. Flipping both horizontally and vertically, however, gives exactly the same result as a 180° rotation.

Does flipping reduce quality?

Every pixel is moved exactly, never resampled. PNG output is lossless; JPG and WebP are re-saved at the quality you choose (92% by default), which looks identical to the original.

Can I flip many images at once?

Yes. Drop as many as you like; they all get the same flip and rotation and can be downloaded together as a zip file.
