FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I skip numbering the first page?

Yes. Turn on “Skip first page”. The cover is left blank and the second page gets your start number, so a report's first content page can be page 1.

How does “Page 1 of N” count the total?

N is the last number printed. For example, with 10 pages, a skipped cover and a start number of 1, pages show “Page 1 of 9” through “Page 9 of 9”.

Can I start numbering at a number other than 1?

Yes. Set any start number — handy when a PDF is one chapter of a larger document.

Will page numbers cover my content?

Numbers sit inside the page margin you choose. If your document has content right at the edge, increase the margin or pick a different position.

Do numbers work on landscape and rotated pages?

Yes. Positions are calculated from the page as you see it, so numbers stay upright and in the right corner even on rotated pages.
