How it works

How to use MOV to MP4

  1. Drop your .mov file — from an iPhone, a Mac screen recording or a camera.

  2. MP4 output and “Convert only” are already selected.

  3. Click Convert to MP4. H.264 videos are copied straight into MP4 in seconds; HEVC is converted to H.264.

  4. Download the MP4 — or pick a preset like 720p to make it smaller at the same time.

Why use it

Why use our MOV to MP4 tool

No re-encoding for H.264

MOV and MP4 are close cousins. When the video is already H.264, it's moved into an MP4 container untouched — instant and lossless.

HEVC to H.264

iPhone “High Efficiency” videos are converted to H.264 so they play on Windows, Android, smart TVs and older software.

Shrink while converting

Switch to a WhatsApp, Email or 720p preset to convert and compress in one go.

Stays on your device

Personal videos aren't uploaded to a converter site — everything runs locally in your browser.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does converting MOV to MP4 lose quality?

Not when the MOV contains H.264 video — it's copied bit for bit into MP4. HEVC MOVs are re-encoded to H.264 at high quality, which is visually very close.

Why won't my iPhone MOV play on Windows or Android?

Newer iPhones record in HEVC (H.265), which many players can't decode. Converting to H.264 MP4 fixes that.

How long does it take?

A copy-only conversion takes a few seconds even for large files. Re-encoding runs at roughly real time or faster with hardware acceleration.

Can I convert several MOV files at once?

One at a time for now — click “Open another” after each download to convert the next file quickly.

Are my iPhone videos uploaded to convert them?

No. The MOV file is converted inside your browser. When the video is already H.264 it's simply repackaged as MP4 without re-encoding, so family videos keep full quality and never leave your phone or computer.
