How it works

How to use Audio Converter

  1. Drop one or more audio files (MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC) or videos (MP4, MOV, WebM).

  2. Choose the output format — MP3 and WAV always work; M4A, OGG and FLAC appear when your browser can encode them.

  3. Optionally set the bitrate, sample rate, mono or stereo, and turn on volume normalization.

  4. Click Convert. A single file downloads straight away; several files can be saved together as a ZIP.

Why use it

Why use our Audio Converter tool

All the common formats

Reads anything your browser can play — MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC, OGG/Opus, FLAC — plus the sound track of MP4, MOV and WebM videos.

Batch convert to ZIP

Add dozens of files at once, watch per-file progress and download everything in one ZIP archive.

Quality controls

Pick a bitrate from 64 to 320 kbps, resample to 8–48 kHz, mix down to mono and normalize the peak volume to −1 dB.

Uses your browser's encoders

MP3 and WAV are encoded in JavaScript; AAC, Opus and FLAC use the hardware-friendly WebCodecs API when available.

Private by design

Files are decoded and encoded inside this tab. Nothing is uploaded, so it's safe for recordings, interviews and voice notes.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which formats can I convert to?

MP3 and WAV work in every browser. M4A (AAC), OGG (Opus) and FLAC use your browser's built-in encoders — Chrome and Edge support the most. Formats your browser can't write are hidden and listed in a short note.

Does converting reduce quality?

Converting to WAV or FLAC is lossless. MP3, AAC and Opus are lossy, so choose a higher bitrate (192 kbps or more for music). Converting a low-quality MP3 to WAV won't restore lost detail.

What does 'Normalize volume' do?

It scales the whole file so its loudest moment sits at −1 dB below full scale. Quiet recordings get louder without clipping; it doesn't compress dynamics.

Can I convert many files at once?

Yes. Drop as many as you like; they're converted one after another to keep memory use low, and you can download them all as a ZIP.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Decoding uses the Web Audio API and encoding happens in JavaScript or WebCodecs inside your browser. Your audio never leaves your device.
