FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much smaller will my MP3 be?

CD-quality WAV is about 10 MB per minute. At 192 kbps an MP3 is about 1.4 MB per minute, and at 128 kbps about 1 MB per minute.

Will I hear a difference?

At 256–320 kbps most people can't tell an MP3 from the WAV. Keep the original WAV if you plan to edit the audio again.

Can I convert 24-bit WAV files?

Yes. 24-bit and 32-bit float WAV files are decoded at full precision before MP3 encoding.

Are my WAV files uploaded?

No. They are read and encoded on your device, which also makes conversion fast for large files.
