Why use it

Why use our Extract Text from Image tool

Paste screenshots directly

No need to save a file first: paste from the clipboard and extraction starts right away.

Clean digital text

Screenshots are sharp already, so enhancement starts off to keep coloured UI text crisp. Turn it on for scans.

Batch extraction

Add many images at once; each gets its own result, and you can download everything as one .txt file.

Text that can’t be selected

Grab text from images in PDFs, slides, videos, social posts or apps that block copying.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I copy text from a screenshot?

Take the screenshot (Windows: Win+Shift+S, Mac: Cmd+Shift+4), click on this page and press Ctrl+V or Cmd+V. The text appears in a few seconds, ready to copy.

Can I extract text from several images at once?

Yes. Drop or select multiple images. They are read one after another, and Copy all / Download all combine the results with the file name above each.

Does it keep formatting like bold or tables?

No. OCR returns plain text with line breaks. Tables come out as lines of words, so you may need to tidy columns after pasting.

Is anything uploaded?

No. Text extraction runs locally in your browser. Only the OCR engine and language model are downloaded the first time and cached for next time.
